Angel Tree: Thank your gifts for needy families at La Mirada School this Sunday, December 16. You may wrap them (or place them in a gift bag) but please attach the “angel” with the child’s name!

Please remember the church in your year-end giving. Among the many worthy causes at Christmastime is CPC, the place for grace that we call home. As you know, we’ve stretched our budget this year, so your over and above year end gift is especially important in 2018! To be included in the 2018 tax year, gifts must be received in the church office by noon on December 31, or postmarked no later than December 31. Thank you! 86d6c322e5

Two opportunities to respond to the border crisis:

For legal asylum seekers who have been lawfully admitted to the United States Current needs: men’s sweat pants; outerwear for women and children (coats, jackets, gloves, hats); sanitary pads; toilet paper, laundry detergent, diapers, baby wipes, disposable plates, forks, spoons. These are people from all over the world who have very little as they wait for their families or sponsors to shelter them.

To meet humanitarian needs of migrants in shelters in Tijuana, CPC is collecting money to donate funds to the Mexican Red Cross, as recommended by San Diego Presbytery pastors and leaders who have been in Tijuana in recent days. Our funds have more purchasing power in Tijuana, and there are limitations on the amount of goods that can be transported across the border. Make your gift to CPC marked “Border” and 100% of your donation will go to the Mexican Red Cross for food, shelter, health and hygiene items.

My One Word

Many of us chose “one word” to be our spiritual focus for 2015: patience, calm, believe, and gratitude were among those selected.  Our pastor would like to hear about your experiences of your “one word” to include in the sermon on January 17.  You can email or call him with your thoughts.  The January 24 sermon will reveal Pastor Greg’s “one word” for 2016, and encourage us all to choose My One Word for 2016.
