This Easter Sunday at CPC, March 31, 2024

Holy Week Worship
Holy Thursday recalls the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples. We receive the bread of life in the shadow of the cross. Thursday, 7:00 p.m.
On Good Friday we tell the story of Christ’s passion and death as shadows (“tenebrae”) lengthen in the sanctuary. Friday, noon and 7:00 p.m. To truly celebrate Easter, one ought first come to the cross; we are encouraged to worship on Holy Thursday and/or Good Friday.
Easter Day is the celebration of resurrection and hope, the first of seven Sundays in Eastertide.

Sermon  Finding Hope in the Resurrection and the Life
When Mary Magdalene saw the risen Christ early Sunday morning, she thought he was the gardener. She wasn’t expecting resurrection, she wasn’t an Easter person—not yet, anyway. It seems risky to be an Easter person in today’s world, but in Mary’s world and in ours… that’s what the world needs.
