Scripture James 1:17-27
Sermon The Father of Lights in a World of Shadows
These words from the beginning of the letter of James are appointed to be read this Sunday. Sometimes the words scheduled for a particular day seem mismatched for the moment, as on this occasion with all that is going on in the world. But very often, as one listens expectantly, a “word of truth” emerges. So is with these verses that range from “every perfect gift” that comes from the “Father of lights,” to the human capacity for both “wickedness and self-deception”—but also for a genuine faith that is a blessing to others.
Presentation of Bibles during worship to several of our children.
A Word of Gratitude to the congregation for generous giving
A worship bulletin will be emailed before the service.
