Sermon Begin (Again!) With the End in Mind
Here Jesus tells a story that could have been Habit #2 of Steven Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. Of course, Jesus isn’t so much concerned with effectiveness as with the kind of soul you’re shaping. At least the main character in this story realizes he has a soul (see verse 19). That’s a good start…
To worship online live every Sunday at 9:00 and 10:45 or recorded: go to www.Christ-Pres.Church
and click Watch Worship, then click the service you would like to attend.
Coffee service is available after both Sunday services, thanks to our baristas- more are welcome!
Fill Backpacks this Sunday for Children of La Mirada School: between worship services we will fill 100 backpacks with school supplies for children of La Mirada School who might otherwise not have enough paper, crayons, and folders for the new year. Gather on the patio to help!
Beginning this Sunday, August 7, Holy Cross Episcopal Church will begin holding worship services in the Jewish Collaborative building next door. They are a small congregation that has had a few homes in North County, including another synagogue, which led them to JCO, which received the approval of our session. Their services will begin at 9:30 a.m. and their schedule will defer to the CPC in the rare times there may be overlap in the parking lot. We’ll likely have opportunities to welcome our Episcopal friends in the parking lot!
