Sermon   A Christmas Carol – Revisited: Marley’s Gift

Charles Dicken’s classic Christmas story of Ebenezer Scrooge and how he came to learn the true meaning of Christmas is our Advent sermon theme. Each Sunday we’ll focus on the gift offered by one of the spirits that visited Scrooge on the fateful Christmas Eve when his future is in the balance. You will recall that before the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future come to call, there is another ghostly visitor: Jacob Marley, Scrooge’s business partner. In a way, Marley is a figure of John the Baptist. How? Come and see…

The Christmas Angel Tree is here. Choose an ornament (or two) make your purchase and return it with the ornament attached by December 15 for distribution before Christmas. Your gifts for needy families at La Mirada School will make Christmas happen!

Tickets for the Women’s Christmas gathering, Sunday, December 8, 4-6 p.m., are available after worship or on line: https://christ-pres.church/sign-up/   Sign up on on-line to host a table https://tinyurl.com/y5vss2rc  The Rev.
