A Moment of Contemplation
Lighting of the Advent Candle

Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper  All are welcome to receive the Bread of Life at the Lord’s Table, whether members of CPC or not.

Scripture: Matthew 1:18-23, Galatians 4:4-7
Sermon: Emmanuel, God With Us: In This Time
We begin our Advent sermon seriew on Emmanuel, which means “God With Us” in Hebrew. It’s one of the most powerful promises in the Bible. In future Sundays we’ll consider how God is with us in this place and in this life, but this Sunday, we’ll think about how if God came to a troubled time two thousand years ago, God can—and does—come to the times we live in.

To worship online live Sundays at 9:00 and 10:45 or recorded: go to www.Christ-Pres.Church
and click Watch Worship, then click the service you would like to attend.

Coffee service is available after both Sunday services.

ADVENT / CHRISTMAS AT CPC
The Alternative Christmas Market returns Sunday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m.
when representatives of local and international mission causes describe their work on the patio. We then have the opportunity to make confidential donations to any and all we wish. Take this opportunity to learn more about what God is doing in the world!  A great CPC tradition! Pick up a catalog and the giving envelope on Sunday – or use the online catalog: https://tinyurl.com/4t9z8uh3

Lighting of the Christmas Tree & Advent-ure, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Kick off the Christmas season with something for everyone! A hot chocolate bar, Advent crafts, conversation by firelight, a kid-friendly dinner (sloppy joes and veggie/gluten free options), and a story by author Kathy Bostrom accompanied by a hand-crafted gift for every child from Kathy Pickard, continuing the tradition begun by her husband Sam in recent years. It all wraps up with the lighting of the Christmas tree. Don’t miss it!

The Angel Tree is in the lobby. Your gifts for families in need at La Mirada School make Christmas special. Choose an ornament from the tree, buy the designated gift, and return it, wrapped with ornament attached by Dec. 10.
