You’re invited to choose one word to be your spiritual focus for 2019. As an alternative to a new year’s resolution, pick one word (or phrase) to receive your attention: write it on a card in your desk, put it on a post-it note on the mirror, use it as a screen saver – there are countless ways to remember to consider something new. Among the many choices people have made in the past are: compassion, forgive, steady, look, and grace.
Positive Discipline in the Christian Home is a multi-session approach for parents led by Sue Liesegang, who has taught a version of this class in the public schools with great results. Parents of all age kids are invited to a “sample session” this Sunday, 10:00 – 10:20 in the youth room. No obligation, come check it out!
Christmas mission giving at CPC was amazing!
Christmas gifts for six families at La Mirada Academy.
Car loads of diapers, paper products, socks, and other supplies of legal asylum seekers in San Diego who have nothing
A generous $1900 to help our sister city in Tijuana provide services to migrants awaiting asylum hearings
A Christmas Joy Offering of $1200: $900 for retired missionaries/pastors in need and Presbyterian racial/ethnic schools, and $300 for CPC mission scholarships
A record $10,000 for the Alternative Christmas Market! These funds are divided among eleven local and international service and mission organizations, from Community Resource Center (Encinitas) to Presbyterian Urban Ministries (San Diego) to Heifer International.
Thank you for such wonderfully open hearts!
This Sunday and every second Sunday bring your non-perishable food items (or donation) for children of La Mirada Academy (formerly Alvin Dunn School) in San Marcos, a school with many low-income families. CPC sends a backpack of food home every weekend with 90 children – your support matters! 4; \lsdpr
