Sermon My One Word for 2021
Starting in 2015 we began the new year by encouraging each of us to choose “my one word” to be our spiritual focus for the year. It’s not a resolution; rather it’s a simple statement of an intent to focus on growing spiritually in one particular area. Last year we took a break from this recent tradition, but this year, as I was watching the Apple TV show Ted Lasso at the urging of my children, my one word for 2021 chose me. It has something to do with Jesus’ command to “judge not, that you may not be judged.” If we’re not to judge… then what ought we do instead?
