Sunday, July 17: Hands of Peace Sunday
9:00 Contemporary Worship
10:45 a.m. Traditional Worship
Scripture Luke 10:25-37
Sermon The Power of the Parable
On Hands of Peace Sunday we’ll read one of the best known of the parables of Jesus. Like many of the best stories, you almost had to be there to get it. Yes, there’s more than meets the eye to the parable of the Good Samaritan, a tale that includes the best—and the worst—of religion.
On Hands of Peace Sunday we will be joined in worship at the 9:00 a.m. service by Israeli, Palestinian, and American youth who are part of the summer 2022 program (in person again after a two-year break during the pandemic). At the 10:45 service, Hands of Peace staff and an alumna will speak. Hands of Peace recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary of planting seeds for a future peace in Israel/Palestine. We’ll hear members of each delegation tell of their hopes and experiences. HOP celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2022, and CPC has been an active supporter of the program since its Carlsbad inception in 2014.
To worship online live every Sunday at 9:00 and 10:45 or recorded: go to www.Christ-Pres.Church
and click Watch Worship, then click the service you would like to attend.
Coffee service is available after both Sunday services, thanks to our baristas- more are welcome!
