Scripture:  John 17:20-26
Sermon:     The Me in Thee
On the last Sunday in the season of Easter, we hear the closing words of chapter 17, which is the prayer Jesus offers for his disciples – both the original twelve and all of us who have come after – culminating in his heartfelt plea “that we all may be one.” Can the church that is as fractured and divided as the world truly be one? Can the church afford not to be one? We will look to Rembrandt, Ernest Hemingway and Christ himself for wisdom here.

Summer Block Party, 2 – 5 p.m.  Once again CPC offers a block party to our neighbors complete with petting zoo, food truck, DJ, face painting, dunk tank, corn hole, lawn games, bounce house, cake walk, and ice cream sundaes.

CPC Renews Outreach to Military Families: Our Mission Committee will sponsor a Baby Needs and Emergency Food Drive for YMCA-Camp Pendleton. Samantha Holt, Executive Director of YMCA-CP, will share a Minute for Mission during both services. Food and baby items (diapers, wipes, formula, baby food) may be returned by June 2.

Inquirer’s Class for new members…
An Inquirer’s Class for those considering joining CPC will be held Sunday, June 23, 10:10 – noon in the youth room (education building). Those who want to learn more about the Presbyterian branch of the faith are welcome; there’s no pressure to join. We’ll cover what Presbyterians believe and do, and an introduction to what goes on at CPC. A light breakfast will be served. RSVP helpful but not essential:  mailto:gregb@cpclacosta.org  If you’re interested in the class but can’t make June 23, send Greg an email.

Summer Sermon Series: Your Help Needed!
Your help needed for our Summer Sermon Series: Questions People Ask  Greg and Eileen are planning a sermon series that will address questions asked by the congregation – which means we need you to ask them! Please submit questions in writing, anonymously or otherwise, by email or offering basket. There will be one or two informal follow-up gatherings the week after each sermon in a local pub and/or coffee shop to further discuss the question.
