Sunday, June 5: Pentecost      WEAR RED FOR PENTECOST!
  9:00 Contemporary Worship
10:45 a.m. Traditional Worship

We Honor Our Worship Teams this Sunday, everyone who makes Sunday mornings happen from those who sing, play, pray, broadcast, create, welcome, serve, and more. Over 100 people have made worship happen at CPC in the last year, and we’ll celebrate them on Sunday with cake!

Scripture Romans 8:22-27
Sermon Hoping for What We Do Not See
The traditional scripture for Pentecost, the day when we remember the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the disciples waiting in Jerusalem, fifty days after the resurrection of Jesus, is Acts 2:1-21. It’s a remarkable story and we commend it for your reading, but this Sunday we will focus on the apostle Paul’s understanding that all of creation is in pain, awaiting the fulfillment of God’s purposes, but in the meantime relying on the Spirit of God to face the challenges of the day. Our times echo theirs, and we need to hear about a hope that comes in the midst of the darkness and not just after the dawn.
Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper All who trust in Christ are welcome to share the bread of life and the cup of salvation at our Lord’s Table.

To worship online live every Sunday at 9:00 and 10:45 or recorded: go to www.Christ-Pres.Church
and click Watch Worship, then click the service you would like to attend.

Pentecost marks the beginning of the Christian Church when disciples waiting in the upper room were filled with the Holy Spirit fifty days after Easter.  Thus empowered, they began a movement that spread the good news about Jesus Christ around the world.  Today we wear red in remembrance of how the Spirit “like tongues of flame” touched each disciple on Pentecost—and reminding us that the Spirit still moves today. How is the Spirit energizing us to share the grace of God in these challenging times?

Coffee Service is available after both Sunday services. Many thanks to all our volunteer Baristas. We thank you for your patience as we implement change while observing COVID protocol, serving your requests. A donation box supports this amenity. More servers welcome!
