Scripture  John 15:1-15
Sermon  Finding Hope in the Vine
The image of the people of God as the Lord’s vineyard was well-known in the Old Testament; here Jesus offers an even richer version: “I am the vine, the Lord is the vinedresser, and you are the branches.”

This is the fifth Sunday in Lent. For forty days (excluding Sundays) we are invited to take a spiritual journey to the cross and empty tomb. During Lent, the people of God look within to the condition of our own souls, and beyond to how God calls us to live in the world.  Our 2024 Lenten devotional, A Good Enough Lent is available in the lobby. Pick up your copy today or read it online at
Coffee service is available after Sunday services.
Holy Week Worship begins with Palm Sunday on March 24 remembers the triumphal entry of Christ into the holy city of Jerusalem and a glimpse of what is to come. Holy Thursday recalls the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples. On Good Friday we tell the story of Christ’s passion and death as shadows (“tenebrae”) lengthen in the sanctuary. Easter Day is the celebration of resurrection and hope, the beginning of the seven Sundays of Eastertide. To truly celebrate Easter, one must first come to the foot of the cross; we are all encouraged to worship on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, or both.
