Scripture John 14:1-3
Sermon Questions People Ask: What about heaven? Will we know people? Is it boring?
The Bible has many images for what comes after death. The scripture in John is one of them: a house with many rooms where God has prepared a place for you. All of them are images, word-pictures, parables of a reality that is more than we can describe or imagine. Still… let’s try!
All Saints Day Communion: We will read the names of those who have gone to be with our Lord since last Nov. 4. A Dia de los Muertos display will fill the chancel as we give thanks for those who are now at the great feast in the presence of the Lord.
Courageous Conversations: A Hands of Peace Forum, Sunday November 3, 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. in the youth room. Courageous Conversations with Hands of Peace’s Israeli and Palestinian Regional Managers. Hear how HOP’s three managers build bridges for peace in Israel/Palestine, recruit the next generation of inspiring youth leaders and support HOP alumni. Refreshments, a short program, and Q&A..
Sunday Adult Education: 10:10-10:45 am in the adult education room. Discussions track the fall sermon series “Questions People Ask.”
Fall Baby Needs and Emergency Food Drive for young enlisted families, through the Camp Pendleton YMCA. Return your groceries or donation envelope on November 3.
Sign up on the patio this Sunday to host a table at the Women’s Christmas Gathering (or online at: https://tinyurl.com/y5vss2rc). Tickets available soon for the event on Sunday, December 8, 4-6 p.m. A CPC tradition!
