Sunday, November 5: All Saints’ Sunday

  9:00 Contemporary Worship

10:45 Traditional Worship

This Sunday we celebrate All Saints’ Dayby calling the roll call of the saints: the names of church members, loved ones, and friends who have passed from this life through death to new life with God during the past year. There will be a moment to silently add the names of those whom you remember this day, whether their loss be recent or of many seasons. With faith, we claim for them the sure and certain hope of resurrection. After worship you may visit the Dia de los Muertos ofrenda (created by Rocio Middleton) with photographs of many of those who have gone before us, and light a candle in memory of a loved one outdoors.

Scripture: Luke 14:12-24

Sermon: Playing with Parables: Table Manners

The last in our series on the parables of Jesus centers on another “party parable,” the great dinner. There were unwritten rules about who ate with whom in the world of the first century (today, too, according to anthropologists who study these things) and Jesus didn’t follow them. Instead, he turns them upside down to describe something of how the kingdom of God works. This parable plays with us!

To worship online live Sundays at 9:00 and 10:45 or recorded: go to www.Christ-Pres.Church
and click Watch Worship, then click the service you would like to attend.

Coffee service is available after both Sunday services.
