Sunday, October 15
Invite your friends and neighbors to the Enchanted Block Party this Sunday, October 15, 2—5 p.m. when our campus is transformed into a free, fun, not-scary Halloween event. Fairy-tale characters, superheroes, a giant slide/bounce house (and one for tots), games, ice cream, and a special performance by Elsa, the princess from Frozen. Come yourself to join the fun and welcome our neighbors! Why not wear a funny hat, a costume, or colorful attire!

Sermon: Playing with Parables: Missing It
Jesus told the parable of the last judgment on Wednesday of Holy Week, two days before his crucifixion. It’s the only image in the whole New Testament of what that event might be like, but it’s not the imagery that speaks the loudest. We might expect that the standard by which people will be judged would be their adherence to the rules (as you might think from the Old Testament) or whether you put your faith in Christ (as much of the New Testament says). But if that’s what we assume without reading this surprising parable, we will be missing it…
Care for Kids: we’ll be packing food for children of Casa de Amistad this Sunday morning, 10 a.m. on the patio. NEEDED for this Monday, October 16: someone to load food into the Watsons’ truck at the Food Bank from 7 – 7:30 a.m. Volunteer this Sunday or email Linda at
