Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper  Since 1940, the first Sunday of October marks World Communion, when people of faith around the globe gather, together while apart, to receive the Bread of Life. Please prepare bread and wine/juice/water for communion at home. We will offer a special welcome to children coming to the Lord’s Table this Sunday.
Scripture   Galatians 5:22-26; Romans 8:22-25
Sermon     Living by the Spirit: Patience
In these challenging and troubled times, it’s all the more vital that our lives be characterized by these “fruits” of the Holy Spirit. This Sunday we will talk about patience, which is related to endurance and hope. Try googling Bible verses about patience, and you’ll see endurance and hope right there too!
A worship bulletin will be emailed before the service.

In-Person Fellowship: This Sunday, October 4, outdoors, noon. All who wish are invited to an in-person gathering for prayer, conversation. Please wear a mask and observe physical distancing at all times. Bring a chair if you wish; purple chairs provided for those who need them. Only those with no symptoms should attend; we encourage all who are in risk groups to attend the online coffee hour.

Every October the Peace and Global Witness Offering (formerly the Peacemaking Offering) is divided between a local mission cause, and peace work in the US and world. This year our half supports victims of domestic violence through the Community Resource Center (CRC) in Encinitas. CRC offers a number of assistance programs including emergency shelter, counseling, housing assistance and legal guidance. San Diego county has seen an increase in domestic violence cases during the pandemic, so additional support is needed. Please consider a donation – write ‘peacemaking’ on the check memo line, or click “Give” online and add ”peacemaking” in the comment field in
