Sermon  Blessed are the Meek
The third in our fall sermon series on the Beatitudes, about the unexpected grace that arises in severe and challenging circumstances. We equate meekness with weakness, but the word is often translated “gentle,” and sometimes “humble.” Still, this beatitude seems to be one of the less inviting ones. Yet Jesus includes his version of Psalm 37:11 in his guidelines for the upside-down kingdom of God. Why?

Worship this Sunday
In keeping with health department guidelinesworshipers in the sanctuary and lobby need to wear masks. The county recommends that all people, vaccinated or not, wear masks in indoor public spaces such as churches. Our “return to worship team” understands that opinions vary on the use of masks while indoors, and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate these uncertain times with concern for all.
–  Worship in the sanctuary with a mask, in keeping with county guidance.
– Worship in the lobby (narthex) with a mask, an open-air environment for families with children and those with health conditions
–  Worship outdoors on the patio with or without a mask in shade under  pop-ups; those not vaccinated or with health conditions should wear masks.
–  Worship online. Live every Sunday at 9:00 and 10:45 or recorded. Go to www.Christ-Pres.Church, click Watch Worship, then the service you choose.
We seek to create an atmosphere of grace and comfort for everyone. We do not screen worshipers, but those who come on campus certify they do not have COVID-19 or any symptoms, have no reason to quarantine, and will wear a mask and practice social distancing if unvaccinated.
