    Scripture: Mark 12:38-44

    Sermon: What Matters in Worship

Let’s see how Jesus explores and defines true worship through the story of the widow’s offering.

We honor our veterans by supporting the Homeless Veterans Initiative: In two years CPC and four Presbyterian Churches in North County combined with Interfaith Community Services to house 122 veterans, 7 spouses, and 17 children!  CPC alone has donated over $7000 and 60 “Make-It-A-Home” packs that provide needed home supplies for vets (bedding, cleaning, etc.). Be part of this year’s drive by taking a post-it with needed supplies off the display on the patio. Return items by November 11.

This Sunday bring your non-perishable food items (or donation) for children of La Mirada Academy (formerly Alvin Dunn School) in San Marcos, a school with many low-income families. CPC sends a backpack of food home every weekend with 90 children – your support matters!  Every second Sunday at CPC!

Operation Christmas Child: a small shoebox can teach a child about the love of God. Change a life through the power of a simple gift by filling a shoebox with small gifts for a needy child somewhere in the world. Visit http://tinyurl.com/grd5avl for suggestions of what (and what not) to include (no food or toothpaste). Bring your shoebox (with $9 check to Operation Christmas Child for postage if you wish) no later than November 15. Details:
