Christ Presbyterian Church partners with the Jewish Collaborative of San Diego (JCo) and the North County Islamic Foundation (NCIF) in gatherings to promote mutual understanding, friendship, and shared mission. This partnership is named “Sister Faiths,” as all three religions trace their origin back to Abraham. In a time when religious differences are too often a cause of conflict, our Sister Faiths seek to create a safe place for our three congregations to come together in friendship.
Founded in the wake of terrorist acts in France in January 2015, the three congregations have engaged in a process of coming to know one another in events every two or three months. Religious holy days have been shared, meals for the homeless prepared, speakers and films presented, candlelight vigils held, and an annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day event celebrated.
