Sermon:    Reading God’s Other Book

This Sunday we’ll build on last week’s sermon that sought to “read” the Book of Creation that, like the scriptures, speaks to us of the God who is in all things. We will read the story of Christ’s transfiguration, when Jesus suddenly shone with an unearthly light in the presence of three of his disciples. We’ll talk about light – the light that shone in the face of Christ, the light that was the first of God’s creation in Genesis, the light that opens our eyes to really see ourselves, one another, and the world with God’s eyes.

This Sunday and every second Sunday bring your non-perishable food items (or donation) for children of La Mirada Academy in San Marcos, a school with many low-income families. CPC sends a backpack of food home every weekend with 60 children – your support matters!
