Sermon  A Blessing in Broken Bread
This story of two disciples on Easter night who do not know what to believe about rumors or resurrection has captivated listeners for centuries. When a stranger joins them on the road to Emmaus, a village outside of Jerusalem, their world is turned upside down—or is it right side up? The’ll experience the blessedness of the ordinary, and if they’re paying attention, they might discover a clue to what brokenness has to do with blessing.

Blessed to Be a Blessing is our focus as we make plans for our financial giving to our 2024-25 operating budget that begins July 1, 2024. In April we are hearing what our church means to three of our members and why they give generously to what God is doing in and through CPC. We are all invited to make estimates of giving (pledges which may be adjusted at any time) and bring or mail them to CPC this Sunday, April 28 or soon after. A letter and email with details arrived this week; pledge cards will be available in the lobby and online https://christ-pres.church/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/pledge-card-2024.jpg Your pledge helps our leaders make faithful plans in challenging times, and even more, empowers our church to be a blessing in God’s world.

An Inquirer’s Class for those interested in church membership or all things Presbyterian will be held this Sunday, April 28, 10:15-11:45 a.m. in the adult ed room (child care provided). Please note the blue sign-in pad if you would like to receive details or if you’re interested but can’t attend that day.

Coffee service is available after Sunday services.
