Scripture: Genesis 50:15-21
Sermon: Journey through Genesis: Saved from Ourselves
We come to the end of our series on Genesis and a second ending for the story of Joseph. You will recall the improbable sequence of events that find Joseph as the right-hand man of the Pharoah in Egypt after being sold into slavery by his brothers. When a famine hits and the brothers come to Egypt for food, it’s Joseph whom they find with their future in hand. While revenge seems justified, instead Joseph accepts his brothers and invites them to move to Egypt where he will take care of them. But now, his father Jacob has died, and his brothers fear Joseph’s mercy may die, too. We’ll find just who is saved from doom in a little noticed but incredibly moving turn of events…
To worship online live Sundays at 9:00 and 10:45 or recorded: go to www.Christ-Pres.Church and click Watch Worship, then click the service you would like to attend.

Scripture: Genesis 37:2-8, 45:1-8 Romans 8:28
Sermon: Journey through Genesis: God Behind the Scenes, Again!
We move on to the stories of Joseph, Jacob’s favorite son (a poorly-kept family secret). To get the full story, you’d need to read Genesis 37-50, the basis for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the wonderful Rice-Webber musical seen by many. We’ll sketch the story this Sunday, which includes the improbable sequence of events that find Joseph as the right-hand man of the Pharoah in Egypt after being sold into slavery by his brothers in Canaan. As fate (and God) would have it, the brothers meet again in Egypt, but only Joseph is aware they have been reunited. We too can be surprised by such unlikely intersections in life…
