COME AND WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY, PENTECOST
Choose where you would like to worship this Sunday and after:
Indoors in the sanctuary and lobby, with all the sliding glass doors open!
Please sign-up so we can make plans. Click Sign Up at www.Christ-Pres.Church
In keeping with county guidance, please wear a mask (there may be children or
folks at risk present). Sing softly, not like you do in the shower!
Outdoors on the patio and lawn, with pop-up tents provided for the sun or rain!
Per the county, masks need not be worn by the vaccinated, though lately many
choose to mask up anyway. Wear a mask to sing at whatever volume you like!
Online at www.Christ-Pres.Church (click “Watch Worship”), live or recorded.
We’re upgrading our technology to make the sound and video even better.
The “vibe” may be a little different as worship leaders make eye contact with
people in the room as well as the camera. Sing loud at home for your neighbors!
Wear red for Pentecost, at CPC or at home!

Pentecost which literally means fifty, is the day that marks the coming of the Holy Spirit on waiting disciples, fifty days after the resurrection of Christ on Easter. Some call it the birthday of the church!
Contemporary Worship at 9:00 and Traditional Worship at 10:45
Scripture  John 15:26-27
Sermon   Kingdom Come
These words from John’s gospel, spoken on the last night of his life, promises that the “paraclete,” a word that can mean “comforter” or advocate” will come upon the disciples as the Holy Spirit. How do we experience this Comforter and Advocate today?

Sermon   From Followers to Friends
On the last night of his life, with one more teachable moment with his disciples, Jesus moves from the image of “I am the vine, you are the branches” to the simple yet transforming notion that we can be friends with God.
This Sunday we honor Amy Kennedy for twenty-five years of service to Christ Presbyterian Church as our church administrator. That’s a quarter-century of encouraging and empowering the mission of our church. Amy will be part of our online service at 9:00, and in person on the patio at 10:45.

Beginning on Pentecost, May 23, we begin a new worship schedule.
Our goal is to provide opportunities to worship at varying levels of comfort and vulnerability.
Thus, both 9:00 and 10:45 worship will be live in-person and online
-worship will be conducted in the sanctuary
-indoor seating reserved in the sanctuary and lobby, wearing masks, no singing.
-outdoor seating on the patio & yard, distanced, masked & unmasked (see below)
-every service will be available online, live and recorded.
Worshipers may choose the seating location that meets their comfort level. In order to assure the comfort of all who attend in-person worship and recognizing that there will be unvaccinated people present (including children and those with preexisting conditions), we ask the following:
Indoors: Masks to be worn over both the mouth and nose at all times and social distancing to be observed, with no singing.
Outdoors: In keeping with latest CDC guidance, fully vaccinated people (2 weeks after the last shot) need not wear masks except while singing. Masks should be worn by unvaccinated people (including those under 16 and those with preexisting conditions) and by those who prefer to do so.
