Worldwide
Christ calls us to serve with word and deed: with the good news of the gospel and by feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and offering practical assistance in the face of disaster, oppression and war. We work with Presbyterian ministries and other groups to bring answer Christ’s call in the global community.
Mission Trips
Each year CPC heads out into the world to do hands-on mission in Christ’s name. On Memorial Day weekend, a CPC team builds a home in Baja Mexico with fellow Presbyterians and Amor Ministries. Our high school youth have begun the tradition of a summer mission trip; in 2016 they worked on home renovation in the Navajo Nation of Arizona. Scholarships are available to support CPC members who seek to serve God on mission trips beyond San Diego county.
Disaster Assistance
Bad things happen to good people all across the globe. And when bad things happen, Presbyterians are there to lend a hand through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA). Funds previously donated through the One Great Hour of Sharing are ready to be sent in the event of earthquake, hurricane, flood, or fire, and special offerings are received for particularly challenging situations. CPC occasionally sends a mission team to help, such as in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Alternative Gift Market
Early in December each year, Christ Presbyterian hosts the Alternative Gift Market. Organizations from our community and around the world showcase their ministries and offer shoppers an opportunity to make a difference by purchasing gifts to help people live better lives.
Jubilee USA Network
CPC is a member of the Jubilee USA Network, an alliance of more than 80 religious denominations and faith based communities, human rights, environmental, labor and community groups working together to end global poverty through debt cancellation for the world's poorest nations.
CPC hosts an annual fundraising event in support of Jubilee.
Hands of Peace
The goal of HOP is to foster long-term peaceful coexistence among Jewish-Israelis, Palestinian Citizens of Israel, and Palestinians by bringing together teenagers from the Middle East with American teenagers in an interfaith setting.
